Summer Reading & Writing 2024 has begun!  Kids who sign up receive a ‘Summer Reading Passport’ to keep track of their reading, plus a blank book and art supplies to create their own book! Ages 0-11.

Summer Read-Aloud for July Story time with an activity. 

Thursday 7/11, 5-6 p.m. Ages 2-5. Theme: Building with blocks and magna tiles.

Thursday 7/18, 5-6 p.m. Ages 6-10. Theme: Art.

Summer Reading for Adults & YA  Pick up a free “Summer Reading Passport” for adults and ages 12+. Keep track of what you’ve read, plan ahead, and yes, e-books and audiobooks count!

2nd Saturday Book Club  will be held on July 13 from 1-2:00 p.m., and we’ll be discussing “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir. Copies are available to borrow at the circulation desk. To take part in Book Club, read that month’s selection and drop in at the scheduled time. All are welcome.

The Local History Area is open!  Our current display features a timeline of Peru’s history from 1771 to the present, with photography, maps, documents and historic objects. The Local History Area project has been made possible by federal LSTA / Library Services and Technology Act grants, through the MBLC / Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Play Spaces for Kids are back! In the Picture Book room, the play table has blocks, trains and other toys for ages 0-6. In the Chapter Book room next door, crafts, art supplies and beading supplies are set up for ages 3 and up. Comfortable seating for parents is nearby. Play dates are always welcome
